My Grandma’s Tomato Macaroni | The Southern Recipe I Grew Up Eating

August 23, 2026 by Cherry

Some recipes just take you right back to your grandmother’s kitchen table, and for me, tomato macaroni is one of them. It’s simple, it’s humble, and it’s one of those old-fashioned Southern dishes that doesn’t get talked about nearly enough these days.

This isn’t a fancy recipe — it’s the kind of thing our grandmothers made because it was affordable, filling, and used what was on hand. Macaroni, tomatoes, and a handful of pantry staples come together into something that tastes like home.
