5-Minute No-Bake Cookies | Grandma’s Foolproof Recipe

August 23, 2026 by Cherry Leave a Comment

Some of my favorite recipes to make are the ones I get to share with the little ones in my family, and this one is extra special — I made these no-bake cookies with my grandson Liam, using the exact recipe my own mother passed down to me.

This is about as straightforward as a dessert recipe gets. There’s no oven involved, no waiting around for anything to bake, and no fussy technique to master. Everything comes together on the stovetop in just a few minutes, which makes it perfect for keeping kids engaged from start to finish rather than losing their attention during a long bake time.

It’s also incredibly forgiving, which is exactly what you want when you’ve got small hands helping you stir. There’s very little room for anything to go wrong, and the payoff — rich, chocolatey, chewy cookies — comes together fast enough that little ones don’t lose patience waiting.

What makes this recipe mean so much to me isn’t just how easy or how good it tastes, it’s the fact that it’s been passed down through generations of our family now. Cooking with Liam and teaching him this recipe the same way my mother taught me feels like keeping a small thread of our family’s story alive.

If you’re looking for a simple, no-fuss treat to make with the kids or grandkids in your life, this is the one. Watch the video below to see Liam and me make it together!
